Summary of Position: The HR Generalist is responsible for ensuring HR programs, policies, and practices are implemented across the organization. This role will primarily support employees and managers in the USA, but may also have some overlapping responsibilities for Canadian and global employees. Strong expertise in US employment law and labor regulations is required.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for full cycle recruitment, including posting roles, screening, interviewing potential candidates to fill open positions.
Advises HR Director and ARxIUM leadership on employment matters related to US staff.
Interprets and communicates human resource policies, procedures, and practices to employees
Promotes ARxIUM values and drives employee engagement initiatives
Manages employee relations for designated client group, including disciplinary issues and terminations
Completes all forms, notifications reports, and associated documentation required for compliance and completion of human resources policies; including but not limited to affirmative action, worker's compensation, new hires, leaves of absence, terminations and salary increases
Completes new hire process including offer letter, drug screening, criminal background check, new hire paperwork, and new hire onboarding
Development and maintenance of job descriptions and training requirements records (TRR)
Design and deliver education to employees on various compliance-related topics
Maintains various HR related records and files such as vacation and overtime, payroll reporting, on-call schedule and pay, and HR payroll system data entry
Coaches managers on employment related matters
Responsible for performance management processes, including goal setting, career development, and accountability
May be involved in HR projects such as training, compensation, talent strategy, workforce planning, and change management
Ensure HR and health and safety policies are followed by employees, including as they relate to Covid-19.

Competencies:
Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn ADP Workforce Now, PeopleGoal, Payscale and Applicant Tracking Systems
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to act with integrity and professionalism
Ability to adapt and work with minimal supervision
Understand and maintain a high level of confidentiality
Strong computer skills (eg Word, Excel, Power Point)
Knowledge of affirmative action plans, employment equity, and legislation applicable to federal government contractors would be considered an asset.
Knowledge of working within an FDA regulated manufacturing environment would be an asset
Education and Experience:
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years or more of related experience in several of the following areas: full cycle recruiting, training and development, onboarding, policy implementation and interpretation, employment law compliance, employee engagement, compensation or an equivalent level of education and experience,
SHRM certified professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential would be an asset
