But wait, the spotlight is not just for seasoned pros! We are open to hiring a tax senior with the right qualifications and experience to join this exhilarating gig.

In this role, you'll have the flexibility to rock a hybrid work arrangement from the Chicagoland area or, for the right candidate, dance to the beat of your own drum with potential remote work options.

So, come bring your tax expertise and join the Shure groove! We're all about the rhythm of innovation, collaboration, and creating a harmonious financial future.

Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced tax professional to join our team and take charge of federal and state income tax compliance. Your superpowers will include preparing, reviewing, and being familiar with consolidated returns. But that's not all!
  • You will also need to be well-versed in domestic income tax provision (ASC 740) and have the ability to identify and communicate any gaps in our processes. But what sets you apart is your ability to bring forth solutions in an organized and understandable manner.
  • As a key member of our team, you will perform your responsibilities at a high level, ensuring timely, well-organized, and accurate deliverables. You will work independently and cross-functionally, supporting both Finance and Company objectives.
  • Attention to detail is your middle name, and you approach tasks with a hands-on attitude. You excel in project management and time management, always striving for continuous improvement.
  • Your technological prowess is unmatched, with strong skills in MS Office and SAP or other ERP systems. Data wrangling is a piece of cake for you!
  • To be our ideal candidate, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in U.S. federal and multi-state taxation. A bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is also required.
Qualifications
  • As our Tax Manager, you will take charge of all aspects of U.S. federal and state tax compliance. Get ready to showcase your skills in preparation and/or review of book-tax adjustments, tax methods, tax fixed assets, state apportionment and modifications, estimated payments, extensions, and information reporting.
  • But that's not all! You will also lead the way in U.S. federal and state R&D tax credit reporting. From establishing procedures and processes to assessing qualification and collaborating with product development and R&D credit service provider, you will be the driving force behind our success.
  • As a tax genius, you will conduct thorough U.S. federal and state tax research, ensuring we document all the conclusions we reach. And when it comes to U.S. federal and state tax provision, you will apply US GAAP concepts like a pro. From the quarterly AETR and annual financial statements to current and deferred taxes payable, you will manage it all with finesse.
  • In the face of challenges, you will fearlessly handle U.S. federal and state tax controversies. Exams, replying to IDRs and notices? No problem!
  • Last but not least, you will be our go-to person for managing the tax aspects of corporate projects and initiatives. Your expertise will be invaluable as we navigate through various ventures.
  • If you have what it takes to be our Tax Maestro, join us on this exciting journey! Show us your mastery of U.S. tax compliance and let's make magic happen together.
