Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Business Development and Marketing Manager at McHugh Concrete Construction, Inc. The Business Development and Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing and implementing business development strategies, conducting market research, cultivating client relationships, and promoting our services. This role requires strong leadership skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify growth opportunities and drive business growth. This position reports directly to McHugh Concrete’s President, and works closely with the entire team, including Operations (Project Mangers, Superintendents, Project Executives, etc.), Preconstruction, HR, and Leadership. This candidate will be responsible for building McHugh Concrete’s brand through creative marketing collateral, networking events, association meetings, client meetings, etc. Our guiding principle at McHugh Concrete is, “it’s all about relationships,” and the selected candidate will be expected to embrace and champion this principle internally and externally.

 

Responsibilities

· Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with General Contractors and individual clients

· Identify and build new relationships with General Contractors and individual clients

· Actively and diligently find projects and bid opportunities for all McHugh Concrete markets (Chicago, Nashville, and Indianapolis)

· Work with McHugh Concrete’s leadership team to create strategy for profitable growth

· Research and understand the suburban concrete market to seek out bid opportunities

· Conduct market research on trends and types of work that McHugh Concrete should be pursuing

· Be an active member of industry associations (ASA, CAGC, Chicago Building Congress, etc.) to represent McHugh Concrete and build strong networking relationships

· Lead and organize McHugh Concrete’s Annual charity golf outing and community events

· Connect McHugh Concrete leadership with key GC contacts and schedule introduction meetings

· Sell and Promote the McHugh Concrete Brand

· Attend local industry functions

· Build and maintain McHugh Concrete’s “relationship map” that aligns members of McHugh Concrete with key client contacts to create meaningful & lasting relationships

· Create unique and engaging content for McHugh Concrete’s LinkedIn and Website

· Maintains McHugh Concrete’s brand standards

· Work with photographers and videographers to develop best-in-class content

· Create and maintain all marketing collateral, including presentations for scope reviews, town hall meetings, client meet’n’greets, project award submittals, brochures highlighting our experience, e-blasts, etc.

· Complete prequalification forms requested by General Contractor partners to ensure we are a qualified subcontractor for all upcoming bids

· Create reports and dashboards within Salesforce to be shared with key leaders on a weekly basis; the report should highlight our active bids, relationships, and top level pursuits

· Work with McHugh Concrete team members to create unique content on LinkedIn and the company website that highlights our projects, our team, services, innovation, safety, etc.

· Collaborate with Precon team on a consistent basis to share new leads, discuss active bids, and opportunities.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in business development and marketing
  • At least 3 years of marketing experience
  • Portfolio of successful marketing campaigns
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record in cultivating client relationships and sales
  • Ability to analyze market trends and identify growth opportunities
  • Self-starter with high levels of initiative, proactivity and drive
  • Experience in the AEC industry is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
