Job Summary/General Purpose of Job

  • Provides oversight to General Committees, Standing Committees and Task Forces. Acts as staff liaison to specific Committees, Standing Committees and Task Forces. Provide oversight and manage the entity's overall sponsorship and fundraising program. Responsible for generating revenue associated with the program. Develop strategic corporate and law firm alliances to expand the entity's sponsorship.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)

  • Manage the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of corporations, law firms, individuals, and grants that support the mission, programs, and charitable funding priorities; work closely with the Director and volunteer leaders to develop prospect strategies and solicitations.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with corporate sponsors and partner with meetings, marketing and website teams to ensure contractual obligations are met. Scope may include jointly sponsored educational programs, conference special events, and projects.
  • Administers and coordinates the overall organization of the committees and task forces; developing committee structure, overseeing appointment of vice-chairs, committee activities, meetings and conferences.
  • Coordinate with committee chairs on developing policy and committee reports and oversees publication production and submission to ensure proper content and format.
  • Shepard sponsor approvals and contracts through General Counsel's Office.
  • Write proposals, cultivation materials, and fulfillment reports.
  • Prepare program recommendations for review and approval by ABA leadership.

Required Education, Qualifications, Experience

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 6 - 10 years of progressively responsible business or project management experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office, quantitative skillset and prior experience analyzing market trends and evaluating market opportunities.

Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience

  • Experience managing multiple vendors.
  • Prior project/campaign management.
  • Prior experience with an association or law firm.

Physical Requirements

  • Typical office work environment.

Extent of Travel Required in the Job

  • As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of up to 15% of the time.
