What We DoTypically a Certified Paralegal who performs substantive legal work under the guidance and supervision of an attorney. Provides assistance to support lawyers by preparing legal documents. Performs routine legal research and compiles data from such references as digests, encyclopedias, practice manuals or other sources. Prepares drafts of contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, insurance, employment, and related matters. Maintains file system for annual meetings and drafts documents for such meetings, including notices, proxies, affidavits of mailings, agendas, ballots, shareholders and director's minutes and related memoranda. Typically has client contact to explain documents, or gather and provide information.

What You'll Do

  • Collects and collates legal research and information from a wide variety of sources
  • Performs research and analysis on supporting data and information needed regarding various business issues of the organization
  • Participates in the research and preparation of pleadings, court forms, reports as well as contracts involving leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate and other matters
  • Assists attorney(s) in preparation of legal documents
  • Compiles data from legal digests, encyclopedias, practice manuals, etc.
  • Assembles, proofs, and edits drafts of contracts, leases, licenses, insurance policies, etc.
  • Drafts documents for corporate meetings, including notices, proxies, affidavits of mailing, ballots, etc.
  • Drafts contracts for use by sales managers with customers.
  • Maintains file system for legal documents
  • Provides other administrative support to legal department
  • Provides work assistance to less experienced paralegal staff and team members


What You'll Bring

  • Must have experience reviewing and monitoring active legislation- reading bills that are introduced during a state legislative process in order to identify bills that should be flagged for further consideration, and tracked in order to monitor bill amendments and testimony related to the bill.
  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments. For legal positions, specializes in a particular area, such as litigation, tax, patent, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of the law library, state and federal regulations, code sections, legal decisions and Commerce Clearing House volumes
  • Advanced research and summation skills
  • Strong PC skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to corporations
  • Detail orientedExcellent time management, communications, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills
  • College degree preferred
  • Completed paralegal program
  • Typically has 5-8 years of professional experience.
  • Paralegal certification
