Job Description

Position Summary:
The EMR Clinical Analyst Pharmacist is a non-supervisory lead analyst. This position is responsible for providing day to day management of complex and technical systems and ensuring the system supports the overall goals of an integrated delivery system. Develops, implements, modifies, tests and administers the most complex pieces of the clinical systems and applications with focus on but not limited to the pharmacy applications. Serves as a liaison between vendors, IT personnel, other application analysts, management and end users to resolve questions related to system functionality and design. Serves as project manager on specific tasks or initiatives.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Registered Pharmacist License Illinois upon hire and EPIC Certification EPIC System Application Certification. New version training (NVT) must be kept current within 6 months.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) Clinical. Three (3) years experience in the clinical setting/healthcare arena AND Three (3) years experience in clinical information systems.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented with ability to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform all essential job functions of Senior Clinical Systems Analyst.
  • Prioritize and coordinate work plans for timely project completion. Monitor outcomes of activities. Produce weekly reports of project status and cross-team impacts.
  • Conduct project work group meetings and provides direction to team members.
  • Acts as a project leader to determine, recommend and implement the most efficient system changes.
  • Ensure adequate testing and validation has occurred before any changes are submitted for move into production. Move validated changes into production according to established policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of an operational management plan after initial start-up. Provide on-going recommendations for improvement and system management.
  • Serve as a liaison between vendors, IT staff, other application analysts, management and end users pertaining to system functionality and design.
  • Serve as a project manager on specific tasks or initiatives.
