Position Highlights:

  • Position: Manager, Accounting
  • Location: 3040 Salt Creek Lane, Arlington Heights, IL
  • Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am- 4:30pm
  • Required Travel: potential visits to other corporate sites (with notice)

The Grant Accounting Manager is responsible for grants management and accounting duties, overseeing thefinancial operations relatedto Researchgrants (Federal, Fed Sub, Industry, Private Foundations and internally funded), Gifts (Special Purpose and Designated Funds), Foundations, and other programs from theState and City of Chicago funds.

What you will do:

  • Monitor grant expenditures and maintain records of use of funds.
  • Review and audit NIH Federal direct sponsor reimbursement requests and monitoring federal and sub recipient expenditures.
  • Ensure compliance with grants and foundation guidelines, regulations and reporting requirements, and terms and conditions of awards.
  • Work closely with grant managers to monitor F & A (allowable costs) and Fringe Benefits rate agreement are being followed.
  • Lead the grant Uniform Guidance audit and Federal Clearing House and GATA (ILL Grant Accountability and Transparency Act) filings.
  • Assist the Accounting Director in accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements for assigned entities and GL categories within Endeavor Health.
  • Review and approves journal entries, account reconciliations and reports prepared by accountants.
  • Review financial records in preparation of internal and external financial statements for Endeavor Research Institute, Special Purpose, Foundation and Home Health entities.
  • Review and assists on preparation of FSR and or other regulatory reports, year-end Audit , A133 Audit and other Special program grant.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff members involved in the grants and foundation accounting.
  • Supervision and training of assigned accountants in performance of their duties for optimum outcomes is also required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management with at least 2 years focused on managing research grants and foundation funding.
  • Strong knowledge of grant accounting principle, including Uniform Guidance and other relevant regulations.
  • Intermediate to advanced-level skill using Excel.
  • Workday Grant Module Experience is a PLUS
