Job Summary:

A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Qi Cao at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, in the Department of Urology. The focus of Dr. Cao's laboratory is to elucidate the role of epigenetic modifications in prostate cancer initiation/progression, utilizing both in vitro and in vivo model systems. The candidate will dissect the functions of epigenetic modifiers in cancer, using state of the art technologies.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • To conduct experiments including molecular biology, cell culture, imaging, and mouse xenograft.
  • To develop new techs to obtain grants and publications
  • To help write grants and compete for funding
  • To help write and contribute to publications resulting from research done in the lab

Miscellaneous

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, or related field

Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

  • Evidence of first author peer-reviewed publications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cancer research and evidence of project development

Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)

  • Experience working with laboratory animals preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
