The CLE Assistant liaises with the administrative functions relating to the Firm's efforts to process continuing legal education (CLE) credits for McDermott attorneys and clients. This position's duties include but are not limited to, carrying out daily organizational tasks, maintaining the Firm's CLE training database (Litera CE Manager) and facilitating efficient communication with staff and attorneys. The CLE Assistant works under direct supervision of the CLE Manager and relies on instructions and pre-existing guidelines to perform the essential functions of the job.

As a CLE Assistant you will:

  • Respond to department communications in a timely manner and address time-sensitive issues through the 'CLE Inbox'
  • Enter and upload external CLE certificates and lateral attorney CLE records into CE Manager
  • Assist CLE Coordinator with program logistics as needed (i.e., add external programs to CE Manager, provide attendance verification documents, create and distribute CLE attendance verification codes to program contacts, etc.)
  • Collect attendance verification records, validate attendance in CE Manager, and issue certificates to attendees as appropriate after each internal CLE program
  • Support the external program attendance verification process as required
  • Compile and submit program materials, timed agenda, and presenter bios for CLE application packets
  • Submit daily Illinois course submissions through the Provider Course Accreditation Management (PCAM) system
  • Assist the CLE Manager with monthly and annual reporting by jurisdiction

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least one (1) year of related working experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to work well within a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
  • Ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly
