Job Summary

As the Additive Manufacturing (AM) Technician, you will be responsible for executing tests, collecting test data, writing lab reports, running and maintaining AM lab machines, and documenting AM and lab procedures. Collaborate with engineers and other lab personnel for AM component and material testing, new technology product testing, and lab equipment calibration.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide lab support to engineers and other team members by assisting with running lab tests and technical evaluations in the research department.
  • Testing and Analysis: Conduct experiments and tests on prototypes or existing systems, collect data, and analyze results to identify issues and propose solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain accurate test records, test reports, and documentation related to engineering projects, equipment maintenance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of AM equipment and instruments used.
  • AM Prototyping: Assist in printing and post processing AM prototypes.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to ensure products and systems meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with engineers to develop and implement solutions.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that engineering activities comply with safety regulations and best practices and participate in safety audits and inspections.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and project managers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Technical Research: Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices through research and continuous learning.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 2-5 years of experience.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

Ability and willingness to travel 10-15% (primarily domestic to Ingersoll Rand testing and manufacturing facilities).
