Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and produces a variety of creative services products including live and recorded video and multimedia programs for internal and external communication. Coordinates all field production work for assigned projects and provide full field production services that may include setup and operation.
  • Determines and approves format, approach, content level and equipment required to accomplish desired communication objectives of assigned projects. Performs video editing, as well as writes and reviews scripts.
  • Understands the Fermilab computing environment and works closely with the Computing Division personnel to keep video and streaming servers current and functioning. Develops and modifies a range of databases for photography, video, audio-visual equipment, material and supplies inventory system.
  • Interacts with outside vendors when necessary for production. Specifies requirements for the assigned projects. Ensures outside vendors complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Researches new trends and related technologies, and advises on the selection of new equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

Minimum required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree with a Discipline in Video/Multi-Media and a minimum 7+ years of experience.

Applicable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with producing video programs and video streaming, as well as comprehensive knowledge of video editing and production equipment and software.
  • Good knowledge of computers and servers related to video environments and the serving of video to the Web.
