Financial Systems Senior Manager

Capital One's Finance Shared Systems team is seeking a highly motivated, talented, and collaborative professional to join the group as a Financial Systems Senior Manager. The ideal candidate is passionate about bringing the future of Finance to life for our Accounting associates and business partners. The Shared Systems team blends the disciplines of application support, application enhancements, and process innovation. The team is responsible for providing day-to-day support for the General Ledger, Reconciliation, Consolidation, Accounts Payable, and Expense products and also prioritizes and develops enhancements to these applications to provide a better experience for our customers.

You will utilize your strong systems and Accounting knowledge, as well as Agile and project management experience, to be a leader on this cross-functional team designed to deliver against corporate initiatives for multiple business lines that have direct impacts to Controllers systems and processes.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, analytical, self-motivated and with great attention to detail.

In this role you will:

  • Define strategy, approach, and priority for the cross-functional production support team managing all Controllers applications (general ledger, reconciliation, consolidations, accounts payable, expense).

  • Engage with partners in Shared Systems, Technology, lines of business, and beyond to implement process improvements, embracing modern technologies such as cloud, microservices, and platforms.

  • Challenge current process design to be more automated, standardized, scalable, and sustainable

  • Drive results through others even when they are not direct reports

  • Utilize data and metrics to drive improvements and reduce incidents across the value stream

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 5 years of Accounting or Financial Services industry experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in an Agile Environment

  • At least 1 year of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of Accounting or Financial Services industry experience

  • At least 4 years of Agile project management experience

  • At least 3 years of people management experience

  • At least 3 years of experience with automated reconciliation systems

  • At least 1 year of experience using Jira

  • At least 1 year of experience in product management
