Financial Systems Manager

Capital One's Finance Shared Systems team is seeking a highly motivated, talented, and collaborative professional to join the group as a Manager. The ideal candidate is passionate about bringing the future of finance to life for our accounting associates and business partners. The Shared Systems team blends the disciplines of application support, application enhancements, and process innovation. The team is responsible for providing day-to-day support for the General Ledger, Reconciliation, Consolidation, and Expense products and also prioritizes and develops enhancements to these applications to provide a better experience for our customers.

You will utilize your strong systems and accounting knowledge, as well as Agile and project management experience, to be a leader on a cross-functional team designed to enable accounting systems and processes in conjunction with the implementation of an internally developed source system related the the Auto line of business.

The ideal candidate is resourceful, analytical, self-motivated and with great attention to detail.

In this role you will:

• Define strategy and approach for the future state of Controllers applications (general ledger, reconciliation, consolidations, etc.)

• Engage with a cross functional project team to design and implement new systems and processes, embracing modern technologies such as cloud, microservices, and platforms

• Challenge current process design to be more standardized, scalable, and sustainable. Lead associates to deliver on strategy and to do their best work

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience

• At least 5 years of Accounting or Financial Services industry experience

• At least 2 years experience in an Agile Environment

• At least 1 year people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 8 years of Financial Services industry experience

• At least 4 years of Agile/project management experience

• At least 3 years of people management experience

• At least 3 years of experience with PeopleSoft Financials System or another large financial system such as Oracle or SAP

• At least 1 year of experience using Jira

• At least 1 year of experience in product management
