Sr. Associate, Marketing Strategist, Acquisition and Marketing Analytics

Capital One's Retail Bank has grown by leaps and bounds in the last couple of years. The Bank has risen up the league tables in deposits and checking relationships, capitalizing on industry-leading products and a unique challenger brand with superior digital capabilities and distinctive cafes and branches. In spite of the myriad challenges 2020 has brought, the Bank is positioned to to take its next step toward escape velocity. The demand for digital banking is spiking while Capital One is uniquely positioned to meet that need.

The Bank's marketing strategy, supported by national TV advertising, will continue to be central to our growth going forward as will influencing our credit card base to adopt our savings and checking products. In spite of our surging growth, just 6% of Cardholders have a Capital One checking account. While Cardholders are ~twice as likely to consider switching to a Capital One checking account as pure Prospects, a lower percentage are even aware Capital One offers banking products! That's where you come in!

This role is all about reaching those Card Customers and building end to end marketing strategies - from determining how to appropriately sub-segment our customer base to delivering relevant, insight driven marketing - to drive account generation. You will have own a broad range of campaigns and be responsible for understanding and driving the many components of delivering in market success- from customer insight, to creative development, to CX and frontline readiness.

Marketing delivery will focus on owned and paid channels including EASE, social, display etc, leveraging marketing technology to reach our customers at the right place, at the right time, with the right message. Your intellectual curiosity will be fueled by ongoing, real time analytics to enable real time marketing optimization. Success in this role will mean comfort with ambiguity, a desire to tackle white space, and the ability to think like a general manager and care for all the components of a marketing campaign- from understanding volume projections to overseeing creative build to caring for the frontline experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and deliver marketing solutions that enable us to meet our Checking growth goals

  • Leverage market, competitive and customer intelligence to develop a deep understanding of market opportunities, customer insights and business drivers for Checking products

  • Manage high-impact, integrated marketing campaigns from concept to launch which includes campaign strategy development, briefing creative teams, managing creative development, communicating with stakeholders, securing approvals, and driving in market success

  • Collaborate with business and channel marketing partners to refine the consumer bank value proposition to deliver on upmarket customers core needs

  • Effectively leverage a variety of marketing channels and recommend new media testing options to test into new opportunities to drive business growth in an efficient & profitable manner

  • Analyze business results, marketplace trends and consumer insights to inform product positioning and claims, focusing on the upmarket target segment

  • Leverage analytics to analyze channel performance for quick-turn optimization

Ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Highly effective communication and storytelling skills, both written and verbal

  • Able to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, work autonomously, and navigate ambiguity

  • Detail-oriented with strong project management and prioritization skills, managing multiple projects, stakeholder, and deadlines effectively

  • Agile methodologies and Design Thinking approaches to solving consumer problems

  • Ability to thrive in an ever-changing environment

  • Resourceful, innovative, and creative thinker

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years experience in developing marketing across multiple channels and platforms

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in business or marketing

  • 1+ years of experience developing omni-channel marketing plans across digital channels

  • 2+ experience and track record of success bringing products to market
