Senior Associate, Market Research

Capital One's Enterprise Brand Research Team is looking for an individual with strong organizational skills, an innate curiosity, and deep interest in the research field to help meet the growing research needs of the Brand Advertising team. Our research team closely partners with brand Ad and Media teams across multiple business lines (LOBs) to inform future creative development and media rotation strategies.

In this role, the associate will partner with the research team, primarily the manager of ad testing, though there will be cross-functional tasks that will touch upon our communications and brand health research as well. The associate will closely work with our research vendors and interact directly with members of the advertising team. Most of the tasks involve an emphasis on logistics, planning, and reporting, with opportunities for additional on-the job learning and developmental growth opportunities. This role provides an opportunity to exercise and grow both sound research fundamentals as well as principles that drive effective advertising strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of advertising research program across video, print, radio and digital display from project initiation to conclusion

  • Draft research briefs (including business background, objectives, key questions, methodology, and respondent descriptions) and secure internal approvals

  • Communicate across various teams including research vendor, research, and ad teams regarding status of new ad development

  • Coordinate ad deliveries to research vendors and manage survey fielding based on changes to the creative development calendar

  • Develop decks to facilitate early-stage research meetings (e.g., planning meetings) to help guide the design and timing of ongoing projects

  • Generate and review research materials (e.g., surveys) and deliverables for consistency and quality to ensure that final reports are high impact and aligned to project objectives

  • Manage yearly budget and vendor invoice activity to ensure research activities are consistent with individual project plans and in-line with the annual budget

  • Independently manage regularly scheduled Ad and Media Team meetings designed to strengthen and reinforce broader advertising best practices across a variety of topics

  • Support additional deep-dive learning agenda projects, designed to uncover high-impact insights, as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • Up to 2 years of experience in qualitative or quantitative market research

  • Up to 2 years of experience in statistics


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or work equivalent

  • 4 or more years experience with market research (qualitative AND quantitative)

  • 2 or more years with analytics experience and modeling of time series data sets or experience with marketing mix models

  • Advanced familiarity with basic-level statistics (frequencies, t-tests, etc.)

  • Familiarity with various quantitative methodologies
