The Division of Student Life at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a Director of Student Media.This position reports to the executive director of Student Enrichment and is responsible for the management, budgeting, staffing and successful operation of the Daily Athenaeum, U92 The Moose and Prospect and Price Creative. In addition, the Director of Student Media isresponsible for all aspects of Student Media andfor implementing innovative practices that result in respected and appreciated news organizations and profitable business operations; ensuring a welcoming community; and providing students valuable experiences and opportunities that prepare them for success upon graduation.

About Student Media, Student Media at West Virginia has the strong support of the University. It is housed in a stand-alone building, has a professional staff of six and receives funding through a dedicated student activity fee and advertising revenue. The staff adheres to the policies of the College Media Association and the Associated Collegiate Press which prohibit prior review of student content and ensure the independence of Student Media.
The Daily Athenaeum, WVU's independent student newspaper, is produced on Thursdays and distributed to 130 locations around Morgantown and inside The Dominion Post to 15,200 readers. More than 100 students work in the editorial, advertising and marketing departments. Content is posted each day to thedaonline.com which averages 4,000 daily readers. The DA's weekly newsletter has more than 32,000 subscribers.
U92The Moose is WVU's student-run radio station. It is a 24/7, 2,600-watt terrestrial/ internet-streaming station with a news, sports and DJ staff of more than 120 students. The station has offices in the Mountainlair, production studios in the DA and maintains a broadcast tower and equipment on Willey Street. It complies with all FCC regulations and copyright restrictions.
Prospect and Price Creative is a creative services firm established in January 2019 that works with local small businesses and campus partners in need of ad agency work. Eighteen student workers produce brochures, logos, videos and marketing booths.
