Job Description

The Senior Manager of Communications is responsible for public relations and communications for Appriss Health solutions and segments. She/he will develop comprehensive communications strategies and implement them in partnership with internal stakeholders across the healthcare business. Additionally, the senior manager of communications will lead the management of external PR agencies as well as executive speaking engagements, from content creation to presentation preparation. The management and development of content for social media channels and external websites will also be supported by this role.

The position requires excellent written and verbal communications, including leading the development and delivery of the annual Appriss Health report.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the PR and communications strategy and company messaging in partnership with executive leaders, product, marketing, business development and external communications agency.
  • Manage communication strategy with external association and vendor relationships in partnership with executive leaders.
  • Write and edit long and short form communications for the business unit. Collaborate with product marketing colleagues on messaging and materials.
  • Own Thought Leadership strategy with data science team, including delivery of monthly webinars.
  • Lead speaker and presentation content development for all major podiums and/or customer events.
  • Support management of the Appriss Health brand.
  • Support social media strategy and related communications.
  • Support company website content.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years communications experience in strategic communications, including media relations, executive communications, and related communications roles.
  • Demonstrated experience healthcare highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, political science, or related field.
  • Proven experience managing multiple products and audience segments.
  • Motivated self-starter with external media communications experience.
  • Must be able to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, including senior executives.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain a close working relationship with program leaders, as well as with corporate communications and marketing teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and work well under deadline pressure.
  • A strategic thinker with excellent written communication and verbal presentation skills.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in healthcare and/or technology.

Travel

  • Some travel may be involved for both training and customer facing issues, events, or meetings.
