ARxIUM is a healthcare technology firm with an industry-leading, innovative automation product in the Sterile Compounding/IV Automation called RIVA, along with a suite of other chiefly proprietary software and hardware solutions for hospital pharmacies, long-term care and the retail pharmacy markets.

Transforming ARxIUM’s Manufacturing Operations

ARxIUM embarked on a business transformation project in 2020. Part of this transformation saw the appointment of a new Vice President of Operations with oversight of the manufacturing operations.  ARxIUM is committed to improving its manufacturing capabilities by setting up a Global Manufacturing Center of Excellence and transforming its manufacturing operations to support its growth plans.

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will play an essential role in our transition in establishing a World Class Manufacturing (WCM) site for ARxIUM’s Global Manufacturing Center of Excellence.  The Manufacturing Operations Manager will work closely with the Quality and Continuous Improvement Functional Leads to implement sustainable change and maintain the culture required to support our growth.

Manufacturing Operations Manager

The Manufacturing Operations Manager will be accountable for transforming ARxIUM manufacturing operations in Buffalo Grove, IL, into our Global Manufacturing Centre of Excellence (Global Manufacturing COE) and supporting growth by building scalable capabilities within our manufacturing function.  The business plans include possibility of relocating to a new COE facility in the next 12-18 months. 

Your deep experience and skillset in advanced manufacturing and Lean will enable you to make a significant impact from the start.  You will join ARxIUM as a change agent who will challenge the status quo and bring best practices to improve the way we work every day.  Viewing challenges as opportunities, you will be resourceful, solution orientated, exercise creative thinking and use ingenuity to tackle tough problems. 

You will be a shining example of teamwork, effectively collaborating to realize our collective genius within all functional teams who work closely with manufacturing in engineering, quality, supply chain, logistics, finance, and customer service sales,  and implementation.  You will excel by exceeding internal and external customer expectations by embracing and living the new ARxIUM values and championing the ARxIUM’s business transformation initiatives within your function. 

As the Manufacturing Operations Manager at the Global Manufacturing COE, you will:
  • Participate in company-level strategic planning and growth strategy with other Functional Leaders and the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Develop and deploy the functional strategy, objectives and key results relating to Global Manufacturing operations.
  • Provide leadership to the Manufacturing operations team daily and elevate potential to get better every day.
  • Promote collaboration and seamless operation of all manufacturing functions within the Global Manufacturing COE.
  • Development and implementation of margin improvement plans and continuous improvement initiatives to support profitable growth. 
  • Achieve KPIs aligned with Functional key results -- measured weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. Be an ambassador proudly promoting Company technologies, systems, products, services and processes to internal and external customers.
  • True commitment to outstanding customer service at all times.
  • Lead strategy deployment, including key initiatives relating to the manufacturing operations to promote health and safety, operational efficiency, profitable growth.
  • Ensure continuous commitment to quality, operational efficiency and economies-of-scale within manufacturing.
  • Lead by example in driving WCM/Lean initiatives throughout the Global Manufacturing COE to ensure they are fully embraced, committed to and implemented.
  • Ensure the processes are in place to optimize results, including inventory, production control scheduling, shipping/receiving logistics and quality.
  • Co-develop annual operating plan and maintain a high level of accountability for results and closely manage manufacturing operations within budget constraints.
  • Provide leadership by promoting team development through counselling, mentoring, training, talent management, and individual development.
  • Drive a culture of accountability and results by deploying functional objectives aligned with organizational objectives, key results and effective performance management.

Requirements:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience as a trusted leader amongst peers and an effective coach to team members.
  • Expertise in deploying and managing World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
  • Quality and continuous improvement mindset to challenge status quo to bring best practices.
  • Solid grasp of financial concepts as it relates to manufacturing operations.

Educational Background & Prior Experience:
 
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent demonstrated learning is required.
  • Minimum of eight years experience in a manufacturing environment operating with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
  • Proven track record affecting changes and continuous improvement and establishing best practices.
  • Medical technology background (particularly with FDA requirements) preferred but not required.
