Research Associate III - REIT

Summary:

Capital One Securities has an immediate need for an Associate to join our REIT research team. The ideal candidate will have experience working within REIT sell-side research and/or the REIT industry and possess the ability to work within a team and on a self-directed basis, while demonstrating excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the generation of sector and company reports and presentations for internal and external constituents

  • Monitor multiple information sources on sector or company specific news items and trends

  • Maintain macro and industry data series and company specific financial models

  • Assist senior analysts engage with clients and corporates to enhance platform value and visibility

  • Assist with the development of actionable investment ideas

  • Attend industry and company sponsored conferences and field trips

  • Assist with the facilitation of corporate access events

  • Other duties as necessary

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degreeor military experience

  • At least oneyear of experience in equity research or at least one year of experience in commercial real estate

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance

  • Direct experience in the real estate industry or REIT sector with sell-side

  • FINRA Licensed with valid Series 7, 63, 86 and 87

  • Advanced level of proficiency in financial tools including Excel, Bloomberg, and FactSet

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Experience with dissecting company financials and perform valuation analysis

  • Strong organizational skills and meet deadlines in a timely manner

  • Keen interest the equity markets or in the REIT industry

  • Financial modeling experience and understanding of accounting principles
