Job Summary
The Department of Biology at Elmhurst University invites applications to join the pool of part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach in-person Anatomy and Physiology labs and online asynchronous lectures (lecture videos will be provided). The course sections that are currently unstaffed in Fall 2024 are scheduled for Monday/Wednesday, 1:00 – 2:40 pm (Anatomy & Physiology I), and Tuesday/ Thursday, 2:50 – 4:30 pm (Anatomy & Physiology II). Both lecture and lab are overseen and graded by the adjunct faculty member.

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until suitable candidates are identified.
Essential Functions
  • Plans, organizes, and delivers instruction.
  • Provides students with assessment and clear feedback regarding academic performance.
  • Documents student progress and maintains accurate records relating to attendance and grading.
  • Is available to assist students who have questions or require extra help.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Applicants must have a Master’s degree in a biological discipline.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Work Hours
The course sections that are currently unstaffed in Fall 2024 are scheduled for Monday/Wednesday, 1:00 – 2:40 pm (Anatomy & Physiology I), and Tuesday/ Thursday, 2:50 – 4:30 pm (Anatomy & Physiology II). Both lecture and lab are overseen and graded by the adjunct faculty member.
