Applications Engineer - Cabinet Vision

Summary

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking a Service Engineer for our Chicago, IL or Irving, TX locations.

The Application Engineer (Cabinet Vision) works closely with the Support & Service Manager – Americas (Application Engineering Supervisor) to meet customer needs.  Provide comprehensive, professional application & support services to CABINET VISION’s existing customers and resellers.  Responsible for the implementation of the various training, integration, and customization functions made available to CABINET VISION end-users in a timely and professional manner.

Job Responsibilities

•    Provides Online and/or Onsite training services to customers
•    Provides Online and/or Onsite Machine integration services to customers
•    Provide Technical Support services when required
•    Performs post processor modifications when required
•    When needed, provides customer introduction and follow-up calls
•    Assists customers by facilitating the creation and modification or creating and modifying custom reports, UCS and catalogues/libraries
•    Maintain proper notes on customer interactions
•    Obtains and shares customer feedback so products and services can be improved
•    Escalate serious complaints or critical issues to next level when resolution cannot be attained
•    Identify critical issues and escalate them to Applications Engineering Supervisor, along with possible suggestions for improvement, wherever possible
•    Maintain polite, helpful, courteous, and professional manner always
•    Performs other related duties as assigned
 

Qualifications

•    High School Diploma or GED required
•    7+ years of related experience
•    Previous experience in a software support or service role preferred
•    Advanced technical and software skills with the product lines supported required
•    Proficient with MS Office
•    Skills – Certifications: JavaScript, T-SQL, AWS, Microsoft Azure preferred, not required.
•    Ability to learn how to effectively use various software packages.
•    Strong Customer Service Skills
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills
•    Excellent analytical, detail oriented, and reasoning skills 
•    Ability to effectively prioritize work activities.
•    Ability to self-manage and motivate 
•    Works independently as well as in a team environment

  • Frequently in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasional bending/kneeling
  • Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects
  • Regularly move around the office and occasionally customer shops
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus
  • Frequently communicates with other employees and customers

Remote workers’ home office will adhere the below characteristics to the best of their ability.

 

  • Primarily an office setting, with occasional visits to the customer shops
  • Office is clean, orderly, properly lighted, and ventilated
  • Office noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • Customer shop noise levels are considered moderate
  • If required, PPE will be provided
  • Ability to travel up to 20%
