John Meeker is uniquely positioned to conduct executive searches, coaching and advisory services. His services and expertise in identifying exceptional candidates have been developed through a twenty-five year professional career with educational technology companies, leading universities, and his own business ventures and experiences in non-profit organizations. His career has included significant experience in university administration, software publishing, corporate and education staff development, Internet activities, telecommunications, consulting and executive recruiting. Throughout his career, John has built the skills and assets to excel in the executive search arena. Among these are a detailed knowledge of organizational behavior; insight into the educational publishing and technology industry; and intuition for recognizing human potential.

John began his business career working for high technology, electronic publishing and Internet communications companies. His responsibilities included: field sales; sales management; national-level marketing management; product management; new business development; and general management with P/L responsibilities.

Dr. Meeker earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Michigan. His published research focused on an evaluation of Big Ten Faculty Development Centers.

He is active in local school and youth activities as well as in national professional associations. He recently completed a 3-year term serving on the Board of CoSN. In addition, he has been a frequent presenter for the Association of Educational Publishers and SIIA. In 2006 he authored an article on retention strategies published in Blackbaud’s national newsletter to nonprofit executives.
