Job Description
Summary of Position:
As part of the software development team, you will contribute to the Software Quality Assurance (SQA) process for new feature developments, software issue resolutions, and customer-specific software customizations. You will also participate in automated test development.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Design and document test plans
  • Create, revise, execute, and document test scripts
  • Perform functional and regression testing
  • Document software defects using an issue tracking system
  • Report test progress status
  • Participate in product design reviews
  • Implement automated test suites
  • Develop software according to pre-defined design
Competencies:
  • Test definition, document writing, issue tracking
  • Unit test (NUnit or other)
  • Microsoft Team Foundation Server
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • C#, .NET, Win Forms and WPF
  • SQL Server and relational databases
  • Java
  • Experience with test automation
  • Strong communication skills and technical writing experience
  • Familiarity with automation technology such as robotics, PLC’s mechanical actuators, and vision systems is a plus
  • Experience in healthcare industry is a plus
Education and Experience:
  • Computer Engineering degree, Computer Science Degree, or technical college degree with relevant work experience.
  • Experience with automated test development.

  1. Sedentary physical activity requiring reaching, sifting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking and hearing.
  2. Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
  3. 75% or more time is spent looking directly at a computer.
  4. Associate is frequently required to stand, walk (or otherwise be mobile).
  5. Ability to deal with stressful situations as they arise.
  6. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
The majority of the work will be performed at a desk with occasional, but extended periods will be spent executing tests on physical hardware in the manufacturing environment.
 
Other Comments:
The successful candidate must be willing to do occasional shift work in order to maintain testing schedules, if necessary.
