Summary of Position:
This position is responsible for mechanical design and simulation of OptiFill conveyor systems and related equipment. This position will also simulate new high volume prescription filling technologies as they are developed.
 
Essential Functions:
  • Creates detailed designs, performs simulation analyses, tests prototypes, and documents completed designs.
  • Develops design solutions and participates in preparing design concepts.
  • Develops problem solving techniques to determine system flow problems, proposes solutions, and performs validations.
  • Creates system simulation / animation as needed for applications consultants sales proposals.
  • Uses hands-on approach for building and evaluating prototypes.
  • Reviews, analyzes and tests to ensure the success of assigned projects.
  • Participates in reviewing functional specifications, cost targets, and mechanical design requirements.
  • Works with suppliers to identify improvements and new functionality.
  • Submits design information to be documented for production.
  • May serve as a Project Manager on large projects requiring on site build.
  • Works closely with Project Manager to understand budget as well as customer needs and expectations.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
Competencies:
  • Strong background in time & event based simulation and animation in a 3D CAD environment.
  • Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions

  • Ability to use office equipment such as printers, copiers, and faxes
  • Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with Microsoft Office Suite of applications; mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
Education and Experience:
This position requires broad training in Mechanical Engineering generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor’s degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of four (4) years directly related and progressively responsible experience.
