Job Description
Main Tasks
  • Develop and conduct dealer, customer, and staff training programs on the safe and effective operation of the machines and equipment.
  • Perform test cuts to analyze the ability of the machine's performance; identify ways to reduce test cut deficiencies.
  • Conduct time studies and machine demonstrations.
  • Coordinate presale demonstrations and support trade shows and open houses, including equipment procurement, set-up, demonstration, and discussion with potential customers.
  • Maintain a close relationship with the Sales personnel and respond promptly to application support requests.
  • Review Applications aspects and feasibility of RFQs and turnkey systems.
  • Provide customer technical applications and phone support; identify problems and decide the best and most efficient course of action for any requested involvement.
  • Develop and distribute technical application documentation to the dealers, customers, and staff.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university; and three to five years' experience in EDM Wire/Sinker and Tool Making/Precision manufacturing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Systems, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in CAD/CAM Programming Solutions; such as, PEPS/Opticam, ESPRIT, Solid Works, or Mastercam.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in various forms with several abstract and concrete variables. Define problems and troubleshoot situations using strong conceptual thinking abilities. Ability to interpret technical documents limited to brand knowledge.

  • This position may require the Applications Engineer to work irregular hours and spend up to 50% of the time traveling to customer and company locations either domestically or internationally.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
