The Center for Childhood Resilience (CCR) in the Pritzker Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and the Department of Psychiatry at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seek a full-time non-tenure-eligible Assistant Professor in the Clinician-Educator track.

Lurie Children's Hospital recognizes the impact of systemic, cultural, social, and economic factors on children and families, and values the diverse identities that build and enrich our hospital and the broader Chicago community. We are committed to welcoming staff and faculty from varied backgrounds because we believe that diversity strengthens the collective fabric of our medical center and fulfills our commitment to address the structural health disparities in the medical care of children. We seek employees who share this perspective, consider it important to their professional identity, and are representative of the families and children we serve.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Provide consultation to school district, community, and other agency leaders and staff to establish systems and build workforce capacity to support social-emotional learning and address mental health needs of youth;
  2. Promote evidence-based practices and cognitive behavioral therapies through training and delivering supported implementation/technical assistance on clinical school-based group interventions, for example Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS).
  3. Engage in program evaluation and research including a focus on translation and implementation science of evidence-based interventions and strategies in schools and other child-serving settings including community-based organizations;
  4. Contribute to CCR and Hospital advocacy missions through participation in local, state and national stakeholder and advocacy groups related to mental health services and the impact of trauma and violence on children, youth, and communities.

Qualified candidates will have obtained a PhD or Psy.D. in clinical psychology. An APA-approved internship is required along with a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical child and adolescent psychology or pediatric psychology, with at least one year of supervised experience with children and adolescents. Candidates with experience in program evaluation as well as providing consultation and training to educators and community mental health professionals or working in school and community settings will be prioritized.

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full-time position. Start date immediate after licensure in Illinois and Medical Staff Office credentialing is complete. Applications will be evaluated as received. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
