Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair controls of automated production equipment and electrical equipment installations to correct operational errors and support continuous improvement initiatives as well as installation of various visions system components such as inspection cameras.
  • Program/modify PLC programs, AC/DC and Servo Drives, Robot Programs as well as HMI screens, for a variety of automated equipment.
  • As a member of the new product launch team, participate in evaluation, purchase, installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Participate in developing reliable and efficient processes for new product or new application introductions, performing necessary changes to automation as required.
  • Perform systems architecture design, write code, and debug to reduce downtime and increase efficiency through continuous improvement projects.
  • Support maintenance personnel in trouble shooting and repairing automation failures.
  • Design and construct new electric circuits and electronic device integration
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of electrical drawings and code.
  • Support and train maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and repairing automation failures.
  • Troubleshoot and repair failures utilizing machine drawings and schematics.
  • Using maintenance software, ensure actions and PM's are communicated with the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Work alongside engineers to develop, repair and maintain robotic systems and intelligent equipment.
  • Inspect and modifying existing designs and prototypes
  • Conduct research, collecting data and writing daily reports.
  • Run tests, diagnostics and calibrations
  • Maintain machine Automation back up files.
  • Conduct experiments and investigations under the guidance of Engineers.
  • Inspect inventory and reordering materials and technical components
  • Analyze operations, maintaining records and assisting with presentations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience, preferably working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or similar discipline and/or relevant years of related experience.
  • High School Education: Diploma or GED required; Completion of Vocational School courses in Automation/Robotics or equivalent of a two-year Engineering Degree.
  • Experience with Fanuc robots a definite plus
  • Prior experience with control panel engineering, PLC programming, HMI application development and site start-up support of automated systems.
  • Need strong customer service, time management, troubleshooting, and organizational skills as well as attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn and work overtime when required; able to support extended hours when needed (including weekends), multiple shifts .
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and/or hydraulics systems a plus.
  • Experience with safety equipment (safety mats; light curtains; e-stop circuits)
  • Experience with Industrial Vision Systems preferred
