Partner with the best

You will play a part in the sales cycles by defining solutions that meet requirements of customers. You will be both the customers' trusted advisor and technical expert. Collaborating with sales partners, you'll facilitate adoption and growth with a winning mindset for customers and Akamai.

As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

  • Driving discussions to address current/future challenges by advising best practices and guidance on security and performance.
  • Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
  • Leading sales activities like Technical Demos, Customer Analysis Reports, Proof of Concepts (POC's), and Value Confirmations.
  • Staying on the cutting edge by continuously learning about new technologies and customer solutions.
  • Elevating your thought leadership through attaining subject matter expertise in the areas of your interest.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer-facing, technical roles, serving as a trusted advisor, delivering technical solutions, and presenting complex subjects to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the internet, including how traffic flows between end users and customer infrastructure.
  • Be familiar with cloud infrastructure and information security ecosystems.
  • Understand cyber-attacks and the threat landscape as it pertains to DDoS, Application Security, and other attack vectors.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The On Target Earnings (OTE, base salary + commissions) for this position ranges from $113,430 - $170,043/year; a candidate's OTE is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
