JCFS is looking for talented and engaging individuals to provide supports to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their home and community. This is a part time weekend position working Sunday-Friday (5p-9p).

JCFS Chicago provides vital, individualized, results-driven, therapeutic and supportive services for thousands of children, adults and families of all backgrounds each year, facing challenges with life transitions, mental health, developmental/intellectual disability and basic human need.

JCFS is looking for talented and engaging individuals to provide supports to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their home and community.

This position pays $17.50 hourly rate with increases based on proven relatable experience.

Requirements:

• 18 years of age
• Technological skills
• Must be able to pass the S-TOFHLA (literacy test)
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in the Human Services Field
• Must be able to work weekends
• Preferred: Experience supporting individuals with Autism

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Facilitate supports focusing on personal outcomes and independence
• Support individuals in identifying community resources
• Facilitate social experiences
• Promote health and safety
• Administer medication and follow through on procedures under RN and Rule 116 guidance
• Facilitate medical appointments
• Facilitate budgeting, shopping and cooking
• Promote a well maintained home
• Facilitate basic home maintenance and furniture set up and assembly
• Take lead on ensuring a clean, sanitized and organized home
• Facilitate transportation (public transportation)
• Respond to crisis effectively
• Collaborate with service providers, community members and families
• Complete and maintain DSP required trainings and certificates
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner
• Attend and contribute to team meetings
