Reports to: Director of Manufacturing
Responsibilities:
- Oversees fixture & tooling designs requested by manufacturing and for new product
- Ensures compliance with health and safety laws, regulations, and guidelines, including EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Support the manufacturing floor by fulfilling their requests and aiding in process improvement
- Oversees program and setup on various CNC machines including Turning Centers, Horizontal Machining Centers, CNC Milling Centers.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
Job Duties:
- Overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of manufacturing bills of material, manufacturing routings, fixtures, tooling, and all associated standards.
- Collaborates with manufacturing and engineering departments to ensure manufacturability of designs.
- Accountable for bills of material and routing accuracy in the ERP system for both new and existing parts.
- Accountable for setting routing standards.
- Collaborate with production planning to optimize production sequencing.
- Develop templates for manufacturability where needed.
- Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods as well as trends and developments in technology and equipment
- Identifies and assesses various problems and departures from established manufacturing standards and best practices
- Researches and recommends solutions
- Implements methods and modifications to reduce production time and costs
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or college coursework preferred
- Minimum five years Industrial Engineering experience
- Diverse knowledge requirements include machining, assembly, product structure, manufacturing process development, and technical design.
- Experience in manager position including direct supervision.
