Job Description
The Lead Assembly Technician is responsible for directing a team of employees to assemble high quality products; meet customer delivery commitments and sustains a safe work environment.
This position will act as the lead of the assembly area and will be responsible for tools, enforcing PPE, and training new hires. Position reports directly to Assembly foreman.
Responsibilities:
  • Reads and understands standard assembly instructions. Trains on all procedures and proper assembly techniques.
  • Trains co-worker on assembly and building procedures. Help develop and maintain best practices for assembly and training standards.
  • Reads and understands manufacturing drawings, part lists, and other technical documents.
  • Performs in process quality checks. Confirms all quality issues are documented and communicated to Supervisor.
  • Ensure working environment is clean and safe. Ensure other assembly technicians maintain Company standards.
  • Looks for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Assigns assembly technicians to stations daily based on needs.
  • Ability to read electrical/hydraulic schematics, knowledge of proper electrical/hydraulic
    troubleshooting experience required
  • Uses overhead cranes, assembly tools (multi-meter, calipers and micrometer), and torque wrenches.
  • Perform initial machine calibration and function testing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3+ years of related experience or general knowledge of manufacturing/assembly.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience leading/supervising indirect reports. Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a Team Player.
  • Quality and safety focused. Strong attention to details.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and people skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
  • This position requires extended amounts of time standing, walking, and lifting.
