Your Job

The Software Engineer is responsible for working with our team to create, maintain and update software applications, APIs and tools that focus on the design, manufacture, and deployment of our optical modules, including controlling embedded devices and lab equipment. The developer will work closely with the project manager, process engineers and technicians to design and implement various process requests.

In Bridgewater, we serve large, global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing next generation optical modules to support the growing need for data and communications. We are developing optical connectivity solutions, optoelectronic solutions, Wavelength Selective Switch Solutions, and fiber optic assemblies and arrays.


What You Will Do

  • Designs, develops, and deploys software solutions for various manufacturing processes
  • Produce detailed specifications, collaborate with engineers to understand specifications and write process instructions, evaluate and analyze process requirements, and document processes through flowcharts, diagrams, and code comments with consistent clarity.
  • Performs application testing prior to deployment, maintains deployed applications and investigates current applications for improvements.
  • Manage post-deployment bug fixing, troubleshoot issues, and perform tests to ensure optimal product performance.
  • Manages tasks with software tracking software as well as providing code updates within a Revision control system
  • Prepare operating manuals for users, train them, and provide ongoing support and assistance, ensuring their understanding and satisfaction with the software.
  • Reviews current systems for comprehension and improvements


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Formal training in Computer Science
  • Fluent in C or C++, Windows API
  • Willingness to learn new processes and methodologies quickly and efficiently while adhering to strict deadlines

  • Experience in Physics and/or Optics
