Responsible for the physical application of processing components to products such as books, CDs and DVDs in a quality oriented manner in order to prepare product for library shelving and distribution.

Application of components such as labels, ink stamping, and protective jackets over hard cover books per library specifications to prepare product for library shelving and distribution.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate or equivalent and three to twelve months experience.

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences..

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms and occasionally walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
