Job Description:Position Overview: The LPN Assisted Living Nurse Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being and quality of care for residents within an assisted living facility. This position combines clinical expertise with supervisory responsibilities, overseeing a team of nursing staff while directly engaging in patient care. The LPN Assisted Living Nurse Supervisor ensures compliance with healthcare regulations, maintains high standards of care, and fosters a supportive and compassionate environment for both residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
- Provide leadership and guidance to the nursing staff, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Med Techs and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Conduct regular team meetings, trainings, and performance evaluations to optimize staff performance and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication among staff members.
Clinical Oversight:
- Oversee the delivery of nursing care to residents, ensuring it aligns with individualized care plans, physician orders, and best practices.
- Monitor residents' health status and response to treatments, intervening as necessary and coordinating with other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications, perform nursing assessments, and provide direct care to residents as needed, maintaining proficiency in nursing skills and protocols.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of federal, state, and local regulations governing assisted living facilities and nursing practice, ensuring full compliance with all applicable standards.
- Participate in regulatory inspections and audits, collaborating with administrative staff to address any deficiencies and implement corrective actions promptly.
Resident Advocacy and Support:
- Serve as an advocate for residents, addressing their concerns, preferences, and needs with empathy and respect.
- Act as a liaison between residents, their families, and healthcare providers, facilitating communication and ensuring continuity of care.
- Promote resident independence and autonomy while providing assistance and support as required.
Quality Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement in nursing care delivery, infection control, medication management, and resident safety.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives, collect and analyze data to evaluate outcomes, and make recommendations for enhancements to policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Florida.
- Prior experience working in assisted living, long-term care, or a similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong leadership abilities with demonstrated experience in supervising and mentoring staff.
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in medication administration and basic nursing procedures.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards for assisted living facilities.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to resident care.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
