Sr Manager, Retail Security Operations - Security Strategy and Programs

GWS is seeking a Senior Manager to join the Retail Security Operations (RSO) team. The Senior Manager will work with an experienced and dynamic team and report directly to the Vice President of Retail Security Operations who leads security for Capital One's retail branches, cafes and ATMs.

As a member of the RSO leadership team, the position will lead our retail security strategy and well managed programs to include oversight of our ATM security program. This role will serve as a program manager, a business-minded security storyteller and a leader. Additionally, this role supports the RSO team in its overall mission in providing a safe and secure environment for Capital One associates and customers.

This person will be focused on tracking the progress of strategic objectives, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of internal processes, enhancing service levels and providing analytical business insights across a dynamic, fast-paced environment in order to protect our people and facilities.

The Senior Manager Candidate:

  • Will have a strong and proven record leading dynamic security teams where they are as comfortable leading a team as they are working cross-functionally across multiple teams to achieve a common goal.

  • Will be a collaborative leader who is comfortable working in a "team-of-teams'' environment comfortable communicating at speed with inclusion and transparency.

  • Possesses strong written and oral communication, presentation, influencing and storytelling skills.

  • Has advanced project/change management skills and the ability to effectively communicate with all members of their team and across key stakeholder groups to ensure collaborative success.

  • Has experience and skill at navigating strategic change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive and lead business management, strategic planning, communications, change management and operational excellence to ensure we are a well managed team

  • Build relationships and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across multiple departments to understand processes and drive results

  • Bring subject matter experts, stakeholders and partners to the discussion to achieve superior results.

  • Develop executive ready reporting and communications on program strategy and engagement to communicate a compelling story in support of decision-making

  • Drive and track program projects, strategies and objectives within RSO; uses data to provide insights to GWS and Retail leaders to strengthen programmatic objectives

  • Manage RSO team's quarterly planning to ensure a shared vision across teams

  • Ensures the RSO team is leveraging Agile practices to align to a shared vision, identify cross-team dependencies and plan our strategic roadmap.

  • Lead our well managed initiative by identifying and delivering improvement activity across RSO through the implementation of process improvement methodologies and the application of innovative thinking

  • Lead collaboration to define our strategic roadmap to execute priority objectives

  • Develop and performs/tests quality assurance/control processes across the retail enterprise and works closely with GWS Risk in the identification and mitigation of risk

  • Work closely with the GWS data analytics team to develop/enhance dashboards, metrics and other performance/risk indicators to support Quarterly and Monthly Business Reviews

  • Participate in and execute other special projects for the team on an as needed basis

Ideal Candidate:

  • Leadership and Teamwork: Strong leadership, collaboration, and teamwork

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop business strategies supporting preparedness, security and incident response

  • Strong Executive Communication Skills: Impeccable written and oral communication skills, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive consensus through intellect and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite and specifically Google Slides to produce high level communications and presentations that tell a story

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in either the private sector, military or law enforcement with physical security and incident management

  • At least 5 years of People Management and Project or Program Management experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in Agile and PI Planning practices

  • At least 1 year of experience in risk management and emergency management life cycle

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of proven success in a customer/stakeholder facing role to include project/change management, communications/marketing, corporate strategy, business analytics or other related roles

  • 7+ years of people management experience directly leading teams and collaborating with cross functional teams

  • 2+ years of strong experience in Agile practices

  • 3+ years of strategy development for an enterprise or national program

  • Demonstrated strong organizational, project management and analytical skills

  • 1+ years of experience with physical security issues and emergency management lifecycle

  • 2+ years of experience leading Agile and PI Planning practices
