Job Description

Position: Test Engineer

Position Summary:

Our organization is seeking a Test Engineer to provide support for Air Mobility Command's (AMC's) C2 and Business Systems.

HQ AMC's mission is to provide integrated Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Information (C4I) systems and manage strategic C4I resources supporting AMC's global air mobility mission. HQ AMC requires technical and support task services that enable the operational functionality and readiness state of the systems, infrastructure, and services that satisfy the HQ AMC mission for the Mobility Air Force (MAF) C2 Business Systems, projects, applications, and infrastructures.

Clearance Eligibility: Active DoD - Secret

Salary: The salary offered will depend on education, certifications, length and relevance of work history, and professional experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide testing expertise for the MAF C2 Business Systems for the support of user requirements.
  • Act as liaison between customers and developers during Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT).
  • Work with specialized tools to conduct Section 508 testing to ensure all website content is accessible to people with disabilities.
  • Develop test cases and software test descriptions to ensure the software satisfies the requirements.
  • Conduct system interoperability/interface testing to verify data and maintain interface continuity throughout all interfacing systems.
  • Ensure that the test design and documentation support all applicable client, agency, or industry standards, timelines, and budgets.
  • Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and analysis in the development of systems and components supporting the AMC enterprise.
  • Design and write test automation scripts create test scenarios, and manage system change parameters to validate program software functional requirements and enhance data integrity and user functionality.
  • Manage, direct, and conduct formal software testing processes ensuring compliance with governmental functional and technical contracted specifications.
  • Manage software scripts, conduct performance testing, troubleshoot, and report discrepancies/deficiencies, and document test findings.

Education and Certification Requirements:

Associate's degree or higher

Background and Experience:

5 years of relevant experience

Required Technical Skills:

  • Ability to formulate/define test cases based on system requirements and specifications.
  • Experience devising or modifying procedures to test a unit or a system as a whole.
  • Able to perform test cases, document the result, and track changes.
  • Ability to prepare detailed specifications from which program bugs will be corrected and follow up with additional tests to ensure proper functional and system behavior.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • General office environment. Work is generally sedentary but may require movement about the office for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • Contractor site with 0-10% travel possible
  • Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages
  • Occasional movement of small articles up to 10lbs
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Continually operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Occasionally required to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces
  • Continually required to communicate information and ideas so others will understand
  • Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
