Specializing in precision machining and metal fabrication, our Sanmina Newark, California facility has 15 years experience in both precision and large format solutions for industrial, semiconductor, clean technology and oil & gas markets.We provide comprehensive engineering and test capabilities: from in-house and hydrostatic leak-testing of medium and large format vacuum chambers to machining of precision stainless steel mechanisms. We have the capacity to machine components up to 3 meters.Our metal fabrication services include grinding, vacuum welding, heat treating, plating and anodizing. We can process many advanced materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, ferrous-nonferrous and other exotic alloys

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for the General Business Operations of the Newark, California machining and Integration facility. The associated duties include managing all aspects of the performance of the Newark Machining Operations including financial results, customer satisfaction, operational execution and leadership of the plant management team and staff.The Plant Manager will play a key role in achieving broad based business goals including profitability, growth, and customer satisfaction all built on foundations of flawless execution and quality.This candidatemust be able to demonstrate thorough understanding of operations and lead their team using applicable metrics along with hands-on-involvement in every aspect of the business working on-site extra hours during crunch time.The successful candidate will be aleader who can communicate with and motivate a talented team that he or she will build and continuously develop.

Specific responsibilities:

  • The Plant Manager isresponsible for overseeing many of a business's daily activities, directing and coordinating actions across an organization.
  • Develop, motivate, and lead a high-performance management team with key direct reports in Quality, Engineering, Production, Materials and Purchasing.
  • Direct operations to ensure excellence in quality, cost, delivery, and other performance metrics.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and effective customer relations with strong and positive personal involvement and leadership.
  • Meet or exceed financial commitments including those tied to growth, profitability, working capital and predictability.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years progressive plant functional management experience in a machining manufacturing or metals.
  • An 8+ year track record of success in operational roles for companies with machining and engineering operations; preferably with key customer relationships in semi-conductor capital equipment.
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operational Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Has a manufacturing operations background with a proven track record understanding and improving how projects move through the shop.
  • A track record of growth that is indicative of strong financial (P&L) and commercial skills as well as strong customer presence.
  • Ability to push, engage, motivate, and lead others
  • A visionary and passionate leader who can inspire, communicate and influence in a professional yet "down-to-earth" manner to effectively gain trust and support across the company and customers
  • Track record of forging strong customer relationships with large 'blue chip' multinational corporations.
  • Comfortable in C-suite conversations with Customers, ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written and presentations modes.
  • Strong presence and charisma.
  • Ability to balance short-term and long-term objectives
  • Highly entrepreneurial executive with a track record of results and integrity who thrives in a fast-paced, hard-working culture

Salary Range (annual): $140,000 - $250,000
