Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee cooking operations at ASFG-OC, reporting to Lead Production Coordinator (LPC)
  • Know all company recipes and oversee execution
  • Train cook assistants on proper cooking technique and processes
  • Complete daily equipment inspections, including hoist and grease float checks
  • Document pre- and post-operational sanitation paperwork
  • Complete and verify accuracy of all cook sheet data and turn into LPC daily
  • Maintain floor free of slip and trip hazards, removing waste materials
  • Calibrate metal detector daily and oversee operation
  • Notify supervisor of any issues involving the pot or meat
  • Follow all worker and food safety rules and regulations, and enforce regulations on cook assistants
  • Work with maintenance on identifying equipment malfunctions
  • Verify product box-up temperatures have been met and oversee boxup process
  • Assist with product shipping, if LPC is unavailable
  • Perform USDA and QC testing as needed, if LPC and QC are unavailable
  • Fill in as LPC if LPC is absent
  • Communicate with ASFG-Burgaw directors as needed
  • Operate electric pallet jack, as needed

  • High School or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Must complete all courses in necessary training schedule within 90 days of assuming position; during that time employee may perform duties under supervision of trained operator.
  • Must complete all necessary training including Orientation, GMP and HACCP training.
  • Must complete Orientation prior to first day of assignment
  • Must complete Employee Awareness
  • Safety PPE Requirements: Proper Attire, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Steel Toe Shoes
  • Must complete Hearing Conservation, Hazard Risk Analysis, Fire Safety, Machine Guarding, Emergency Preparedness, Bloodborne Pathogens, Electrical Safety, Confined Space, Ladder/Knife Safety and Fall Protection training
  • Must be P.I.T. Trained
  • Must complete initial safety procedures
  • Must complete Ergonomics and L.O.T.O./Machine Specific training
  • Must have knowledge of Excel, SAP, and other computer programs
  • Must have the ability to work with co-workers proactively and in a team environment.
  • Must have no more than a verbal warning for absenteeism. Acquiring a 2nd attendance slip may cause disqualification from position.
  • Must have no current discipline for violation of company policy. While in position, discipline for violation of company policy may cause disqualification from position.
  • Must work with Cookhouse Supervisor to schedule vacation, cannot schedule vacation on same days.
