Portfolio Group Product Manager

Our Team:

Manages multiple Product Managers to develop and implement the strategic direction for assigned product lines in support of divisional goals. Acts as a focal point for market knowledge, profitability, forecasts, commercialization and planning of a broad range of product lines. Makes priority decisions between/among product lines in all aspects of the Product Management function.

What You Will Do:

  • Develops and implements strategic product and annual business plans targeting markets, industries and customers. Identifies product line trends and technologies. Leads long range product planning and sets priorities among/between lines.
  • Increases sales and market share of assigned product lines in support of Divisional objectives. Tracks progress to plan for revenue, profit and backlog.
  • Improves profit and return on investment of assigned product lines. Establishes the priority for cost reduction, capacity planning and quality improvement projects.
  • Provides direction for product pricing and commercial excellence leveraging the pricing team to develop pricing strategies for new and existing products. Works with group on prioritization and planning in this area.
  • Manages new development activity associated with extending and growing the life of assigned product lines and prioritizes projects between/among lines.
  • Assures that product promotion and commercialization plans including sales tools, literature, distribution, stocking, training and sampling are developed and sets direction and priority between/among lines.
  • Will need to embrace the role of the supervisor as will have direct supervisory responsibility for marketing professionals and their support staff. Plans for necessary training, scheduling workload, evaluating performance of employees. Participates in interviewing and recruitment activities and will recommend or provide input on promotions, salary changes, disciplinary action, etc.
  • Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or engineering
  • 5+ years product marketing experience in connector industry
  • 5+ years product marketing experience in electro-mechanical device industry

  • Previous supervisory experience in product management
