Responsibilities

The Senior Systems Engineer role will support the organization's office & jobsite systems with the management of the network, systems, and infrastructure, throughout our Client's Midwest locations. Your work as a Senior Systems Engineer will help our Client get ahead of the curve by helping to strategically create business resiliency plans for disaster recovery. This is a full time role reporting onsite in Barrington, IL with local travel expected 10% of the time.

Qualifications
    A bachelor's degree in information systems/technology, Computer Science or similar; relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems administration
  • Experience in networking, security, and cloud administration.
  • Previous knowledge in a O365 Global Admin role
  • Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations
  • A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture
  • Effective communication, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Advanced leadership and conflict management skills
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great project management skills, including organization, planning, time management, communication, and prioritization.The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
  • A valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must demonstrate a "can-do" attitude

Desired skills:

  • VMware vSphere 6.x or higher
  • Firewall configuration and administration.
  • Windows and Linux Web, File and Application servers, including patch management.
  • Azure Active Directory and related features and functions
  • Microsoft SQL Server management and administration
  • Microsoft Exchange 2016 or newer management and administration
  • Backup Exec, Veeam, AvePoint, Cloud Backup systems
  • Endpoint antivirus technologies
  • NAS / SAN administration
  • Cisco switch, administration
  • Cloud Migration experience
  • Network security experience
