Job Description
Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $25.90 - $36.25 Hourly
Shift: 2nd
Hours: Sun-Wed, 5:30pm-3:30am
Looking to take the next step in your Maintenance Technician career? This large manufacturer in Cedar Rapids is looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2 years' experience (in a related job field). Experience with CMMS software (Mapcon) preferred. Controls and utilities - PLC-Allen Bradley experience preferred. Either currently have or the ability to attain forklift certification required. This position is 2nd shift with a schedule of Sun-Wed, 5:30pm-3:30am. The hourly wage ranges from $25.90-$36.25/hr depending on experience. Sound like you? Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of machines
- Installing and testing industrial controls, including computerized systems that monitor and regulate operations or machinery such as robots or automated production lines.
- Troubleshoot non-functioning components including servos, sensors, and control components.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment when necessary
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies
- Display and promote company values (ASPIRE: Attitude, Safety, Passion, Integrity, Relationship, and Evolve)
- Firm understanding and compliance with company's Good Manufacturing Practices and Safe Practices
- Regular attendance
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements for Maintenance Technician:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with prevalent professional demeanor
- Support and drive the goals of the Company
- Ability to work independently
- Highly motivated
- Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing, and regulated environment
- Effective time management
- Ability to identify problems when they arise, define the issue, identify the root cause, and find practical and viable solutions
- Exhibit sound and accurate judgment
- Ability to work effectively across departmental teams
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new approaches
- Maintain professional technical knowledge
- Intermediate level mechanical aptitude
- Intermediate level troubleshooting skills on moderate equipment issues
- Ability to operate scissor lift and work at heights of 20-25 feet
- Intermediate level computer literacy
- Mathematical aptitude
- Proficiency in 2 of the following skills: electrical, mechanical, robotics, vision systems, controls, fabrication, pneumatics
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Strong understanding of weights and measures
- Associate's degree in a relatable field preferred
- Certifications or experience exemplifying electric, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and/or industrial skills preferred
