Overview

TRC is seeking a Senior EHS Consultant to join our growing national EHS Practice. This position would report into our local EHS Leader in the Greenville, South Carolina office. As a Senior EHS Consultant this team member will perform EHS regulatory compliance and management systems audits, assist clients in the development and implementation of occupational health & safety programs, assist clients with environmental reporting and similar environmental compliance aspects, and mentor less experienced team members.

This position is a front-line, client-focused seller-doer who works with stakeholders to understand project needs and manages teams to deliver services to meet those requirements. Business development responsibilities of this position will include networking with clients to identify and define projects, and the developing and negotiating of proposals for these opportunities. Project management responsibilities will include leading technical staff and subconsultants to execute work, maintaining quality and risk management processes to keep work on track, and delivering according to scope, schedule, and budget.


Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of industry EHS regulatory compliance requirements gained through EHS auditing and providing compliance and regulatory support to clients.
  • Successful track record in assisting clients implement Occupational Health & Safety programs.
  • Experience in designing, developing, implementing and auditing EHS management systems (ISO 14001 / 45001).
  • EHS regulatory compliance auditing experience.
  • Project management experience leading teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Highly-competent technical leadership resulting in successful project delivery.
  • Strong project financial management resulting in consistently profitable work.
  • Effective proposal development resulting in the award of new work with clients.
  • Regular client engagement resulting in continually expanding client trust relationships.
  • Experience in business development and working with account teams to grow revenue.
  • Oversee preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and budgets.
  • Reviewing RFPs/RFQs and preparing proposals and statement of qualifications.
  • Leading project teams through scope development, approach, regulatory or other required approvals and implementation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, science or engineering from an accredited university.
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in assisting clients with EHS compliance, management systems, and auditing.
  • Success with engaging clients to identify and win new projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience leading, recruiting, building, mentoring, and fostering a project team of scientists and engineers.
  • Willingness to travel for project assignments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen and OSHA physical.

Preferred Certifications/Qualifications:

  • ISO14001/45001 Lead Auditor Training Certificate.
  • Certified Professional Environmental Auditor (CPEA)
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • Experience in using technology solutions during audits.
  • Experience negotiating with agencies on permits and NOVs.
  • OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification.

Compensation: Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
