As our Fire Protection Specialist, you'll spearhead our efforts in fire prevention and mitigation, collaborating with both internal teams and external partners such as the US Forest Service, Fire Districts, and Federal and State agencies.Join us in making a meaningful impact on the safety and resilience of our communities. Accountabilities
  • Take the reins in shaping and directing our fire mitigation program, making a tangible difference in protecting both our assets and the communities we serve
  • Work hand-in-hand with various stakeholders, from field staff to external agencies, fostering mutually beneficial relationships and ensuring seamless integration of our fire mitigation efforts
  • Dive into the dynamic world of wildfire management, utilizing your expertise to provide invaluable insights and guidance in major project planning, safety mitigation, and professional agency liaisons
  • Serve as a beacon of safety education, representing Liberty Utilities in public workshops and meetings to raise awareness about our Wildfire Mitigation Plan and Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) program
  • Assist in the execution of wildfire and fire prevention initiatives, with a dedicated focus on asset protection, cause investigations, and safety training for first responders and company employees
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with external stakeholders, playing a key role in implementing fire mitigation agreements and serving as the Agency Representative (AREP) to local, state, and federal emergency management entities
  • Provide support during periods of heightened fire threat, ensuring adherence to Fire Prevention Plan compliance and acting as a liaison between Liberty Utilities and external first responder stakeholders
  • Perform other responsibilities as requested by leadership
Education and Experience
  • College or professional program degree with a strong foundation in fire management or related field
  • Bring 5-10 years of relevant experience to the table
  • Background in fire fighting, preferably at the Battalion Chief level or higher, coupled with a deep understanding of incident command structure
  • Uphold Liberty's safety standards and procedures, ensuring strict compliance with all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines and contributing to the continuous improvement of our safety protocols

Compensation

$84,738 - $127,106 per year

Expected pay: $84,738 - $105,922 per year

*Liberty considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education, training and skills, and geographic location. Base pay for this role is expected to fall within the min to mid-point.
