DESCRIPTION:

Our HR Directors play a critical role in enabling the organization to succeed. Through strong partnership with C-suite leaders, our HR Directors ensure that we are recruiting, retaining, developing and rewarding the industry's best talent in a manner that is cost-efficient and compliant. The Global HR Director supporting our Corporate Functions is a key leader and partner to eight C-suite executives and their leadership teams, including several company officers. The best person for the role will have demonstrated success in managing multiple competing priorities, have the ability to adjust their style to a variety of leaders, have experience in supporting international teams in a matrix HR structure, and be an inspirational leader to develop the senior HR managers and team that report, both directly and indirectly, to them.

Reporting to the SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer, this individual will be a key leader in the global HR leadership team, which develops and implements Avient's HR strategic priorities and key deliverables for the organization globally.


Essential Functions:

  • Manages multiple and/or large projects and associated staff in the development, enhancement, and innovation of their client groups and the global HR department. This is inclusive of mergers & acquisitions as required.
  • Leads human resources practices that enable a high-performance culture that emphasizes teamwork, honesty, openness, quality, productivity, results and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.
  • Develops and implements global strategic and tactical plans for driving Avient's human resources processes, systems, services, policies, and programs that positively impact the business results of the organization
  • Acts as a true business partner with senior leaders to develop and implement strategic human resources initiatives, policies and programs that align with business goals and drive business results.
  • Provides subject matter expertise and leadership in the design, planning, operation, and implementation of the global human resources policies, practices and procedures including areas such as benefits, compensation, training, recruiting, workforce planning, conflict management, performance management, etc.
  • Leverages data to tell a story and help drive fact-based decision making for our leaders and organization.
  • Understands how to effectively manage their budget and
  • Ensures that all policies and procedures are in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations and are consistently administered.
  • Manages and leads a high performing HR team and delivers performance feedback, coaching and mentoring.
  • Proactively manages relationships with applicable human resources vendors that include benefits carriers, search firms, training firms, etc. and negotiates as required.
  • Responsible for the talent management plans and programs for all shared service functions.
  • Performs other projects as required by the business.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business, or related field or equivalent experience with a Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in human resources field required with
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with individuals globally and across all organizational levels
  • Ability to work as part of a team with excellent collaboration skills across other functions and with business partners
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities including good time management skills, organizational skills, and taking accountability for tasks and issues
  • Excellent trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Quick thinking, initiative taking, thirst for learning and unafraid to be out of comfort zone
  • Expertise in HR systems and Microsoft Suite strongly preferred
