Corporate Accounting Lead

What You'll Do

In the capacity of Corporate Accounting Lead, you will be at the forefront of ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance and strategic financial decision-making. This role requires a meticulous eye for detail, an understanding of US GAAP accounting principles, and the ability to navigate complex financial landscapes to include cash flow reporting, lease accounting, equity investments, mergers and acquisitions and the impacts of foreign exchange. Below is outline of how you will deploy your refined expertise to enhance and elevate the responsibilities associated with this position.

Role and Responsibilities:

Cash Flow Reporting

  • Collaborate with the External Reporting team in the preparation of our quarterly cash flow statement in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies, ensuring transparency and integrity of financial reporting
  • Analyze cash flow variances for reporting to Senior Management on a quarterly basis
  • Liaise with Corporate and Commercial Accounting to review and enhance various roll forwards that impact the cash flow workbook
  • Direct responsibility and oversight for all cash flow related SOX controls

Lease Accounting

  • Lead the ongoing compliance efforts related to ASC 842 lease accounting standards to include coordinating with cross-functional teams on reporting, assessing impact on financial statements and ensuring adherence to reporting requirements
  • Oversee the identification, classification and measurement of lease arrangements through the utilization of our lease accounting software
  • Maintain comprehensive lease accounting policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with ASC 842 guidelines, providing training as needed to finance and operational teams
  • Direct responsibility for the operating lease roll forward and review of prepared lease accounting reconciliations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal, external and statutory auditors, providing support and documentation during audits

Other Responsibilities

  • Work with a diverse and talented accounting team with an eye towards process improvement.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees (even if not direct supervisor).
  • Assist with the development of detailed accounting controls, policies and procedures, and the modernization and periodic updates of the existing global accounting policies.
  • Analyze and review financial information for accuracy.
  • Review the Company's financial statements and the completion of the quarterly close checklists for assigned areas.
  • Assist with various special projects, tasks and processes.
  • A mindset to digitize existing month-end close processes.

  • Direct responsibility for the monthly accounting for investments, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of transactions in accordance with GAAP and company policies
  • Liaise with Technical Accounting in the preparation of the accounting for acquisitions as needed
  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, providing support and documentation during audits for all investments and acquisitions
  • A key leader in the monthly general ledger closing with a focus on "below the line" accounts and respective balance sheet accounts.
