Arconic has an immediate opening for a Facility Manager at our Hutchinson, Kansas location. The Facility Manager will oversee a semi-autonomous team consisting of Electrical and Area Leads, Electricians, and Mechanics. The Facility Manager will drive safety, quality, reliability, recovery initiatives to meet location specific goals. You will champion an inclusive environment that uses lean manufacturing tools to rapidly problem solve in a 24-hour, 7 day a week manufacturing facility. The role includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Provide safe work environment by adherence to OSHA, Corporate mandates, model safe work practices.
  • Daily goal setting of preventive maintenance activities with KPI 2 and KPI 7 as metrics.
  • Collaboration with maintenance planner to ensure proper levels of spare parts are procured and maintained.
  • Collaborate with maintenance planner to ensure all equipment adheres to regulatory standards including air and water.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and corporate standards for waste and proper disposal including documentation.
  • Lead annual audit interaction with KDHE and Factory Mutual.
  • Collaboration with Production Manager and Operations Manager to utilize natural machine down times for maintenance activities, and schedule downtime.
  • Develop annual/three year rolling capital plan.
  • Capital project management using Finario.
  • Collaborate with Davenport Engineering and outside Engineering resources.
  • Ensure proper levels of training are maintained within the maintenance staff.
  • Overall responsibility of the facilities loss prevention systems including security, fire, theft, closed circuit TV systems.
  • Work with corporate resources and local electricians to maintain information technology systems including servers, desktops, laptops, barcode scanners, printers, CAT5, CAT6 and fiber optic cabling switches and routers and VOIP telephony systems.
  • Overall responsibility for building, grounds, parking, drives maintenance.
  • Overall responsibility for onsite contractors.
  • Collaboration with peers to maintain AAC quality and safety culture.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Finance, Business and/or Supply Chain from an accredited institution
  • 5 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Intermediate level MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Access) and MS Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5 years experience with Problem Solving techniques
  • 5 years of experience leading and implementing Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • 5 years experience utilizing Continuous Improvement tools.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing on the shop floor in manufacturing operations
  • Expert knowledge of Lean Manufacturing theories, methodologies, standards, and tools to generate meaningful, quantified improvement in: cost reduction, efficiency, reduced inventory, shortened cycle or lead times, improved quality and reliability, on-time delivery, or safety
  • Experience training and coaching plant personnel to achieve productivity savings using Lean principles and tools
  • Understanding of financial and non-financial metrics necessary to achieve Plant goals
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in management or Supervisor role(s) in areas of Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, Planning, Financial, Manufacturing or Technical areas
  • Successfully implementing systemic change efforts across a diverse organization
  • Experience performing VSM analyses and OEE studies to identify true production bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement
  • Greenbelt certification/experience in Six Sigma is considered a plus
